Helen Burnham

I've been sewing for as long as I can remember; as a student in the 1970s I made most of my own clothes. Dressmaking then somehow got expensive, and I got busy, and not much sewing got done for years until I decided to make a quilt in 2009. Since then it's snowballed and I've been having fun exploring the possibilities. I've learnt never to say never; I'm having a go now at things like foundation piecing and applique which didn't interest me much to start with, and purchases of an embroidery machine in 2015 and ruler quilting kit in 2016 have expanded the possibilities. I'm retiring in March 2017 and have signed up as a volunteer at the Welsh Quilt Centre in Lampeter. I'm hoping to have more time to quilt, though there's a long list of holidays to be taken too!
