I have lived on Ynys Môn, the Isle of Anglesey, for nearly 40 years. I work part-time with my husband in publishing and exhibition design. I have also worked as a volunteer for the new Museum and Art Gallery in Bangor, Storiel, documenting items in the collections.
I began quilting in 1999 when I joined the introduction course for City & Guilds in patchwork and quilting. Through a further two courses, the certificate and diploma, I developed a love of textiles, art and museums. My four children have left home now and this creative practice has given me a new interest. I sometimes take part in the annual Anglesey Open Studios fortnight at Easter to share my work with others. I try to join in challenges arranged by the Contemporary Group for exhibitions, and had a piece in the Fine Art Quilt Masters section of the Festival of Quilts in 2016. Most of my work is inspired by the landscape of Anglesey, but recently I have been exploring traditional Welsh quilting patterns, leaves, spirals, and hearts, in a contemporary style.
